Woo! Happy New Year, blog! I hope everyone had fun this season ;) I spent the holidays working like a mad woman for my two day jobs, but I managed to squeeze in a little time for snowboarding, sewing, and hunting for scores on ebay. Snagged this BB Dakota vest for a soooong!!

My honey got a new Canon for Christmas! Look at this shot he got of me in my new kitty coat (also from Ebay ;) I'm excited for him because A. He is a wonderful photographer with a ton of natural potential and B. My Christmas wish was to get a paparazzi so I wasn't *always* hiding behind the lens in 2013! Guess it came true :)

xoxo!

rainbow streaks

You guys, this human being brings me so much joy in life, it's crazy. She is my constant inspiration, a living embodiment of all I wish to accomplish and create. She is my soul mate, my soul sister, my other half. We are children of the moon, we are cosmic hitchhikers. We're just best friends ;) Hallie and I did this little fashion shoot after an Emancipator show and a sleepover. Click the break for fuuuuun!

Dreadlocks and Striped Tights...

I finished making this little green infinity dress the other day and had to do a photoshoot ASAP... and of course ended up getting no good photos of the actual dress. But I did get a few shots of some other cool details. I love this outfit because...

* I layered two pairs of tights together to get these - Target opaque purple over 50% off b/w Halloween stripes...

* My dread bead is a lampwork piece by the artist Donna Trull...

* My lasercut wooden Flower of Life necklace!

* That beautiful sweater, which my soul sister Hallie let me borrow to make a pattern from (which I did!) and then I shamelessly wore it :/ hehe

phew...finished!

I had the blessing of working with a client who wanted to create something really special for his girlfriend's birthday, and here is the result! I am in love with it... the bear and stealie are hand painted and then appliqued on, and the patchwork is made from all sorts of bits of new & upcycled fabrics in a variety of textures (some of even shiny ;) I then paint the flower of life by hand directly onto the hoodie.

I just love doing this so much, it almost shocks me. Very few things in life have made me feel as good as this project did. Clothing is special to me, I consider it art that you get to live your life inside of. So I'm flattered and honored when someone wants me to create something to commemorate an event. I just hope this piece and it's owner have many long adventures together.
